BBC iPlayer for Mac OS X soon

September 10, 2007

BBC has planned its BBC iPlayer to be developed for Mac OS X. This is a step-forward to give broader support of BBC iPlayer to go beyond Windows XP, which is currently BBC iPlayer beta is available.

This plan is a response to a petition called on British government to go beyond Windows XP. The petition said "The BBC,should not be allowed to show commercial bias in this way, or to exclude certain groups of the population from using its services "

The BBC say that they provide 'services for everyone, free of commercial interests and political bias'.

BBC iPlayer is an internet TV software from BBC which allows users within UK to watch tha last seven days of BBC tV on their computer. However users are not allowed to save permanent copies of the show locally. The software is otherwise free.
