SEO Friendly Flash : Google on progress to crawl Flash better

Is it mean now we can build SEO friendly full fledged flash websites ?, well I can't tell you for sure about it, but obviously folks at Google has made some improvements on crawling Flash. This is what SEO experts and webmasters waiting for since years, as Flash considered not SEO friendly. Although this is not a major breakthrough and there are pessimist opinions and drawbacks about it, it is not wise to judge it is bad, at least this is better than nothing.

Although the news couldn't make us jump for joy, just yet, what we have to note is Google has made improvement and brings light to webmasters. However many many tricks available to make Flash working fine with search engine. Benj Arriola of Business Online Blog wrote about four solutions for dealing with SEO problems of Flash covers about techniques and suggestions that can be adopted by full flash or partly flash websites such as using SWFObject and sIFR.

At last I want to see the impact of this new update on search engine results.

Google pagerank updates, it dancing again

Due to my absence these 3 days from the Internet, yesterday night I put a chance checked my websites and to my surprise, I saw the Google pagerank for this blog turned to pagerank 3. It seems that Google is doing another pagerank updates. Do I got another Google slap ?, well I am still looking for any breaks I made to Google TOS on webmaster guideline. Since the last cleaning I surely didn't break any webmaster guidelines, except I may late on applying Privacy Policy pages on this website as requirements of the latest Google TOS updates.

I've checked on various SEO websites, the pagerank for this website on Google datacenters and found the result vary on each datacenters, some are returned 3 and mostly returned 4.

I saw this smackdown is also happened to many websites, anyone get smacked by latest Google dance ?

A big cleaning blitz

I was away from the internet for quite long time and in the middle of January 2008 I found this site pagerank was dropped to 0, my bad luck. Actually I was aware that my site was getting Google penalties in last November when it's dropped to Pagerank 2, but at the time I cann't do a lot of thing since I was totally off from the net.

With limited Internet connection, I have removed all things that are violates Google TOS and quality guidelines, most of them are paid reviews, and one of the hotlinked image that accidentily turn into adult image.

Lets take a look a couple day a head, I already sent my reconsideration request. Hopefully I can back to post actively on this site.

5 ways to prevent Google Pagerank drop - stop Gevil dance

It's been on top of topic in blogosphere in the recent weeks; there are a lot of site with higher pagerank were dropped 1 or 2 level. Most of them are sites with good quality in their content. Let say andybeard.eu who is amongst top 30 on SEO blogs, sabahan.com, endgadget.com. gizmodo.com and a lot more. If you are amongst those who are dropped by Google you my check what you are doing with your site.

As of Google concern is quality links, it seems this is how Google treat those bad links. One of the most thing we might already aware of since it was discussed a lot before is the 'Selling paid links' that can hurt our pagerank. If that's so, as gaman of sabahan.com pointed out why adesblog.com is not affected ?. As I said earlier online marketing is about link building and goodwill, and link building is not that easy.

While this is believed only visible pagerank drop and "guilty until proven innocent" moment, below are things you might to consider if you happen defamed by Google:

1. Are you are selling paid links ?, put nofollow tag !.
   

   It's been on the hot discussion before that Google with spanking you if you selling paid links on your site like TLA or any others. It's against Google TOS and quality search, and some people suggested to put 'nofollow' tag for it. Well that's is hard for some advertisers who are expecting traffic and Google juice from links they bought. So what is the solution for this ?, sells paid links that is consistent with your niche and put nofollow tag on it. TLA is implemented through a plugin, how come we screen which links are relevant to our site or not?. However we might try it.

2. Put nofollow on Paid per Post or paid review ?

   If you are on those paid post moneymaking like PayperPost or ReviewMe , you are on Matt Cutt's google target. Even andybeard.eu who happened to be doing PayperPost review was defamed by Google. He even complaining as most of his reviews are related to his own expertize. He think Google is attacking his personal business. Solution for this ? I still don't know, but some says if you could put 'nofollow' tag on links in your review that would be find, but again I doubt it will satisfies the advertisers, but it is said ReviewMe is never prohibit us to add nofollow tag on their review. Any of you ever heard of it ?

3. Don't do Black SEO.

   Do you holding a draw for a review of your blogs or site which is asking the reviewer to link to your website with specific anchor text ? Well it seems you are trying to game your search engine ranking positions (SERP). This is what happened to Johnchow.com who got continued google penalty. This is also what happened to Davidairey.com and sabahan.com. Apparently I'm the one who won the prize from sabahan.com for a review of his blog :) .
   

   
   
4. Watch your move, Google is monitoring your site manually.

   Until how Google can detecting paid links is proved, lets assume Google is doing this manually. Well, it is believed so. They are monitoring those skyrocketing websites, the Google's head webspam Matt Cutts will likely to drop his squad to monitor those naughty websites. So watch your move.

5. Do not link to bad neighbourhoods

   Exhanging links with other websites is a good way on getting google juice. However if you accidenlty linking to penalized sites a.ka. bad neighbourhoods you are in danger in Google eyes. You may want to check your site for bad neighbourhoods links with this tool.
   

   
   

Now if you think that you are not depending on Google, you may ignore the above way, However if you care, play safe with Google. If you are experiencing pagerank drop recently, I suggest you to apply for a review request or may want to contact Matt Cutts ? :) . If you are thinking this is just a mistake by Google and expecting Google to issue a public apology in near future, just sit relax and keep blogging.

Who said SEO is an exact knowledge ? SEO is like the law of jungle, the strongest will win. LOL. Now I realize that not all of those link baiting and link building tips out there are good tips.

Getting link love - more you get by giving it

Do you remember my last post about articles by Chris Kata about proverb that guide your internet marketing ?, one said :

When you’re intentions are true and honest people know it, and they will want to do business with you, whether it’s link building, writing content, sending leads, etc.However, if you just want something for your own personal gain, in the end people will sense that in you and you won’t be doing business with them

In term of getting link love, all of them is matter of goodwill. Some says 80% of your traffic will come from only 20% of your links according to Pareto Principle, if you have goodwill to link love someone, it is matter of time you'll getting traffic from them. There you are, you will get 80% of your from 20% of from those link love. You might never know who they are, they might be a good blogger and their post someday will grow bigger, and they will bring you more traffic to you. The more you give link love the more you get.

Goodwill is also applied for writing, writing a good post is likely will get link love from other bloggers out there. This pareto principle once again applied, it is likely, the more you write the more you generating traffic. You will get 80% of your traffic from 20% of articles you wrote. Always remember, the more you write, more traffic you get. I always amaze those bloggers that able to post more than 20 post a day. Once I saw a three month old blog is getting over 12,500 page views from over 6000 unique visitors daily [via courtneytuttle.com], the key is writing, writing, and keep writing.

The more you get link love by giving more link love, the more you get traffic by giving more on writing posts. Hey, it's all about networking man !.

Why you should not live by the Google ?

What will you do to get incoming traffic to your blog ?.
Do SEO and get indexed and crawled by Google.

Bloggers are trying hard to generate more traffic to their blog with various traffic generation methods, SEO, link building popularity and more. All of this efforts was done with one mission, generating incoming traffic, getting visitors and readers.

Generating traffic from search engine results is the most important thing bloggers will do, but if you are overdoing it, it is likely you will put yourself in to Google penalty box. You will lose your search engine ranking. Yes, Google is unpredictable, once said "the search-quality team makes about a half-dozen major and minor changes a week to the vast nest of mathematical formulas that power the search engine". Google concern is quality search. Don't play fire with Google, sooner or later you are going to get burn.

At least that was what happened with Jhon Chow recently when he was pushing it all to the limit, he lose his search engine ranking. It was happened my times, and I saw it many times by myself. 'make money online' search result was not always pointing to John's blog, it was floating around. John Chow is in the Google penalty box and is hoping Google will restore his page ranking soon.

There are few thing we don't know about Google and Google team is very clever, they are acting immediately when they found something is beyond the normal.

When you are stepping out way too far, and When you are on the top, it is likely a lot of people would jealous on you. Yes at least there are another threat you should aware of in term of search engine power. The Negative SEO , as Philipp Lenssen pointed out that your competitor could do harm to your search engine page ranking. Someone is posting a lot of spam-like links all around the web links to your blog or site, links back is jumping in short period, hence, they make you look naughty in front of Google.

Still thinking play with SEO is always safe ?, yes Google penalty box might be rarely happens if you do things right, but the latter, the competitor negative SEO attack, it is uncontrollable aspect.

Increase search engine page rangking. What you can do with your old blog posts ?

As you may be aware, that Google is monitoring over time how often you update your pages and add content to it. Google is monitoring the stability of site update as one factor for search engine page ranking. In order to update the content of your blog, all you have to do is to post, and post again.

Perhaps, when it comes for the time where you have no ideas what to write for your next blog post, you are trying hard to find topic for it. In your head, it's about maintaining better position and increase search engine page ranking for your blog.

This morning I came across to Blogherald.com for an article by Lorelle Van Fossen about tips to update and revitalize old blog posts to increase search engine page rank. It got me thinking about the possibility to revisit my old blog posts and rewrite it.

When you have no idea for a new blog post, rewriting the old blog post become a good solution. It doesn't mean that you just pull them and post it as is. What you can do is by making a new title that is more proper for current situation, fix and update information on it, some factual information at that time maybe not factual enough at present, fix the typos and more. Updating some links and remove the dead links, you know that Google is also hates dead links, so is your readers.

It is also mentioned, that giving a new perspective to the old posts and rewrite it with more better search terms keywords play in helping your blog got found by the search engine. Which is mean, traffic, and search engine page ranking.

The spirit of Blogging : The oldest blogger I ever knew.

Blogging is for everyone isn't it ?. Regardless of age, gender, etnicity , region, blogger are connected each other, blogging is a phenomenon.

A blogger named Donald Crowdis, a 93 years old blogger with his blog named 'Don to Earth'. An inspiring blog, I admitted. There is a spirit of life and a spirit of blogging in there.

His last post was on March 8 2007, which was telling his fellow readers, that he is not dead, but there is a family concerns that preventing him from posting to his blog. There is numbers of his fans is currently waiting his next post. We are waiting for your next post Don.

Did you know ?, the pagerank of Don's blog is 6, and I believe he didn't do anything hard on SEO and a like. This a prove that content is everything, content will attract visitors. In this Don's case, his spirit brought many visitors to his blog.
